6 Fashion Items You Need For The Beach & Pool
Any beach trips coming up? I recently returned from a hiatus in my happy place (Florida), and am recharged with all of the energies to bring you more blog posts! Below, you’ll find favorites from my vacation suitcase, along with wishlist pieces (like Ray-Ban’s Erika Classic polarized sunglasses and an endless supply of stylish hats). Read on for fashion items you need for the beach and pool:
1. Swimsuits – many of them!
If you’re packing for vacation, know that swimsuits don’t take up much room in the suitcase. It’s likely you’ll wear more than one swimsuit a day between your trips to the beach and pool, so pack plenty to avoid putting on a wet or mildewy swimsuit. Here are some of my favorite bikinis that I brought on our recent vacation to Florida:
2. Cute cover-ups
Coverups tend to return damp and coated in sunscreen, so it’s nice to have a backup while the other is washed and drying in between trips to the beach or pool. Here are some fashionable coverup options including my new favorite Amazon coverup (so many color choices!):
3. Comfortable flip-flops that won’t give you blisters
I am all about my black Reef flip-flops. I’ve had them for years, and they are still like new. Yes, they are more expensive than your typical $5 Old Navy flip-flops but SO worth it. I’ve never had any blisters from them, and the arch support is incredible while still being cute (if you need a reliable flip flop to walk in, this is it!). Explore the many styles and color options within each Reef favorite below:
4. Crushable sunhat for skin protection
Not all sunhats are can be bent in a suitcase or beach bag without getting ruined, so the ‘crushable’ or ‘packable’ label is important to look out for when selecting a sunhat for vacation. I bought an adorable sunhat from Bealls (pictured up top) that can be bent in every which way – and it even has an adjustable string so it doesn’t blow off of your head on a windy day or boat ride.
5. Polarized sunglasses
Quality, polarized sunglasses make a big difference when it comes to the beach – and driving. Jim encourages budget picks, but he admittedly loves borrowing my Ray-Ban Wayfarers (very unisex), so that’s proof they are superior (although cheapos are great for the beach if you don’t want to worry about damaging or losing them)! I’ve shared a few of my most-loved below, both affordable and high-end to fit your price range. To ensure they’re well taken care of, add one of the hardshell case packs to your cart as well:
6. Durable beach bag
A durable beach bag is a must-have. I’ve been using a thick tote, which fits almost anything we need to throw in there. Sharing a few adorable beach bag options below (LOVE the ‘Shine like the Sun’ Tote from Target).
Stay tuned to find out what’s in my beach bag and unlock my top picks for a quality beach setup (blog posts coming soon). In the meantime, check out more of my content and say hello on Instagram! I’d love to hear about your summer plans.
