Background & Transparency

As part of Influenster‘s Vox Box program, I received a complimentary La Roche-Posay product to test and provide my honest review! I’m always looking to try out different products and was excited to connect with a high-end brand that takes pride in product safety by eliminating parabens, colorant, alcohol, preservatives, and fragrance.

Before I get into my review, I wanted to note it’s important to me that I only promote products that I 100% love and would buy again, so please know I will always be honest with you and only recommend products that I feel are worth your money.

Results & Review

Now, onto the review, I’ve been incorporating La Roche-Posay’s Visible Redness Reducing Ser into my routine for a week now, after washing my face in the morning and at night. I’ve taken fresh-face and filter-free photos each morning to determine if this has made a difference in the area that I’m prone to redness, which is mostly around my nose.

I honestly didn’t notice any MAJOR difference in redness in just one week; my results were definitely more subtle. The packaging did say it takes four weeks to see full results, so I will continue to use it consistently and let you know if my results are any different in a few more weeks. Although the redness-reducing factor was more minimal, the serum did work wonders in moisturizing and brightening my skin, so much so that I was able to ditch my moisturizer and just use this serum instead.

I should also note that my skin didn’t have any poor reactions to this product (even after applying my prescription acne gel). I have to work hard to find products that don’t cause acne flare-ups, mix incorrectly with my acne gel prescription, or anger my sensitive skin, so no adverse reactions is a major win! For this reason, I am willing to spend the extra money on skincare products. $40 is pricey for 40 ml, but I do see the value in quality ingredients.

Working down in rows, you’ll see my skin throughout the week: day 1, day 4, and day 7. I didn’t have any new, major pimples this particular week (God bless!), but you’ll see I have acne marks from old breakouts in the hormonal region, which typically fade over time. The right doses of light can help with reducing acne, speeding up its healing process, and quickly fading spots.

Rather than marketing this as a redness-reducing serum, I might label it a complexion-enhancing moisturizer. I would recommend this brand in general to those with sensitive skin thanks to its honest ingredients. Below, you’ll find links to the serum I tested and reviewed, along with a few other La Roche-Posay products I’d be interested in trying out. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these; I’d love to hear your opinion as well!

Would you be interested in more skincare blog posts? I’m very practical, so you can expect something very simple and real! I am not one to have a 20-step skincare routine involving jade rollers, a mini-fridge, or pure gold on dark circles. However, I do have one extremely bougie routine for when my skin experiences a painful breakout, which involves using the healing powers of light, shielding my eyes, and listening to a podcast (no, it is not tanning, and my dermatologist approved!). Curious?
