Amazon Eyewear Finds & Giveaway: Sun, Reading, & Blue Light

My grandma would always say, “protect your eyes, teeth, and feet.” They’re pretty important and easy to take for granted! Taking care of ourselves can be expensive, but when it comes to a pair of sunglasses, it doesn’t have to be. Don’t get me wrong, I love high-end sunglasses (hello polarized Ray-Bans and sunglasses from Barney’s New York), but I also love an affordable find that won’t crush my soul if I lose them or let them get beat up at the beach. I also like to keep extras in my car so Jim and I are never without sunglasses, even when the winter white snow is unexpectedly blindingly bright.

I’ve recently discovered great Amazon sunglasses that offer UV protection, a key quality to look out for in protecting your eyes from rays.

As for eyeglasses, I wear prescription eyeglasses that contain blue light protection. Blue light is a certain type of light that is in the natural world, but it’s also omitted from our screens on digital devices. According to UC Davis Health, continued exposure to blue light over time could damage retinal cells and cause vision problems such as age-related macular degeneration. It can also contribute to cataracts, eye cancer, and growths on the clear covering over the white part of the eye.” With this in mind, non-prescription blue light glasses are now on the market, which is fantastic for those exposed to high amounts of screen time at work. Now, people that already have 20/20 vision can still protect their eye health.
